From Mukurtu Documentation
Mukurtu provides an alternative to only having standard Dublin Core (DC) metadata fields linked to your content. Mukurtu comes standard with both DC fields and an open field for traditional knowledge (TK). Mukurtu Core provides a field for "cultural narratives" that lets you expand past a short "description" in DC. Th cultural narrative field is not constrained by any preset parameters--it is yours to make your own.
The third step to creating digital heritage in Mukurtu is adding "traditional knowledge." We have purposely left the TK field open and flexible to suit your needs. Traditional knowledge varies between peoples and there is no one "standard" set. While we know that your traditional knowledge is important to you, we don't presume to know just how you want to define it. Instead of boxing you into a pre-determined set up, the TK field allows you to describe your traditional knowledge about the content you have added to the archive using text, connecting images, adding audio clips, video files or related urls. Traditional knowledge fields can be shared with the groups you choose or with the public as you see fit.
