Mukurtu (MOOK-oo-too) Community

 

1. A dynamic group of people actively engaging with the Mukurtu software tool suite to produce a robust development environment.

2. People using Mukurtu to manage their cultural heritage materials, develop relationships with other collecting institutions, and preserve their traditional knowledge.

The community page will provide an opportunity for users and developers to actively engage with the tool, provide direction for successive development phases, and produce a community digital archive platform that suits the cultural needs of Indigenous communities globally.

Community User Groups

As we move through development and production to active testing we will be reaching out to community users for feedback. 

Community user groups will:

  • Test successive iterations of Mukurtu
  • Provide feedback to developers
  • Suggest changes and additional features

  • Citizen Potawatomi Nation Cultural Heritage Center
  • Yakama Nation Library
  • Warumungu, Nyinkka Nyunyu Art and Culture Centre

Forums will be a dynamic space for users and developers to:

  • Interact, discuss, and share ideas
  • Ask questions and propose solutions
  • Engage with specific topics defining user needs, modules and new features

 

Get Involved

As participants in production and development we encourage Mukurtu users to get involved by:

  • Developing plugins
  • Designing themes or updating current themes
  • Testing and documenting new modules and plugins as they are in development
  • Suggesting new design and development avenues
